Cisco Certifications bring valuable, measurable rewards to network professionals, their managers, and the organizations that employ them. Cisco® offers three levels of general certification: Associate, to Professional, to Expert (representing the highest level of achievement). Each is available in various paths (or tracks) such as Routing and Switching, Network Security, Voice and Service Provider. A variety of Cisco® Qualified Specialist certifications are available as well to show knowledge in specific technologies, solutions or job roles.

Why Become Certified?

Cisco® is growing at a rapid rate and is significant within the networking arena. Knowledge and experience with Cisco® technologies is currently in demand to address sophisticated complex user needs. In order to meet these needs efficiently and to ensure a high level of service and support, Cisco® recommends customer’s work with Cisco® accredited people. Also, the accreditation and award scheme is controlled centrally by Cisco® and is consistent globally. Therefore your certification is recognised anywhere in the world.

How To Certify

In order to become certified, applicants must pass one or more certification tests. The courses in EXCOM’s certification training programs are available for those applicants who need instruction to prepare for the tests.

Who Can Be Certified

Anyone can become certified. Typically this includes people working for independent service organisations, or anyone using Cisco® products. To become certified, technicians must posses a working knowledge of personal computers and the relevant Cisco® software and then complete a series of demanding certification tests. Accredited people are recognised as highly qualified individuals who posses a high level of technical skills for Cisco® Technologies.

Enhance What You Already Know

To prepare for certification testing candidates will need to first obtain the required level of knowledge. This can be achieved through attending a training program. The training program approach is highly recommended for anyone who is not already very experienced or does not have access to suitable equipment and facilities to undertake their preparation. During your training program at EXCOM you’ll gain knowledge the right knowledge and experience.

This enhances your work experience by exposing you to Cisco® software, resources, documentation and practical computer based lab sessions. In addition, all EXCOM Education training includes additional services designed to ensure effective preparation for certification tests, such as access to lab facilities for practice, unlimited post-course technical support, and personalised advice and guidance regards the individual candidate’s progress.

Certification Testing

To register for a test, call your nearest EXCOM branch and everything will be arranged for you. When you call let the EXCOM staff member know that you want to register for a Cisco® proficiency test and have the following information available:

• Your testing ID number (first time applicants are assigned one)
• Cisco® test name or number
• Date and time you wish to take the test
• Current credit card
