Overview Building on initial experience with Linux, this course teaches students basic SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (SLES10) administration skills. Students will learn how to install and configure SLES10, and how to manage system initialisation and processes. Among the topics covered in this course are Posix ACLs, network configuration, printing, and remote access. This course is intended for students who have gained basic skills with Linux as taught in (3071) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Fundamentals or (3064) Novells Guide to CompTIAs Linux + with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and now want to gain in depth knowledge on tasks a Linux system administrator has to perform routinely on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. Outline 1. Install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 2. Administer the Linux File System 3. Administer User Access and Security 4. Configure the Network Manually 5. Administer Linux Processes and Services 6. Monitor SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 7. Configure System Initialization 8. Manage Software for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 9. Manage Backup and Recovery 10. Manage Printing 11. Configure Remote Access Students intending to undertake this course need the skills taught in (3071) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Fundamentals or (3064) Novells Guide to CompTIAs Linux + with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. They also need to be familiar with files and file system layout, user management, how to use a shell and basic functionalities of YaST. |
