Overview

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan, deploy and configure server farm solutions with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. This course will focus on key deployment and configuration tasks including server farms, information architecture and solution architecture. Students will learn to plan for disaster recovery and backup and restore SharePoint Technologies deployments. They will become fluent in managing, monitoring and troubleshooting and planning for capacity and right-size SharePoint technologies deployments. After completing this course, students will be able to configure search and indexing, as well as customise and extend SharePoint Technologies deployments. In addition, students will be skilled in configuring the Business Data Catalogue, and Forms and Excel Services.

Audience

The course is intended for experienced Architects and Administrators who have a minimum of two years experience with SharePoint technologies.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have at least two years working experience with SharePoint Products and Technologies in a role such as Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Information Architect or Farm Architect. Students must also have experience gathering and analysing customer requirements. In addition, it is recommended, but not required, that students complete course 5060A: Implementing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and course 5061A: Implementing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
