Overview

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to successfully implement Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 in their organisation. In addition, students will learn to plan, design, deploy and administer a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 implementation. Furthermore, students will be capable of implementing a portal and content management solution with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

After completing this course, students will be able to implement a business intelligence solution and a search and indexing solution with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Furthermore, students will be skilled in maintaining and optimising Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

Audience

This course is intended for Business Application Administrators, Web Administrators and Server Administrators who are engaged in the planning, design and selection of Line of Business applications including Office SharePoint Server. Their primary responsibilities include the deployment, customisation, management, support, monitoring and troubleshooting of Line of Business applications.

Prerequisites

Students must have experience in implementing, managing and supporting Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 environment, as well as basic knowledge of Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 interoperability. Students should also have at least 2 years experience implementing, managing and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Internet Information Services (IIS). Furthermore, students should have a working knowledge of networking such as TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS). In addition, it is recommended that students have completed (5060) Implementing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, (3370) First Look: Getting Started with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and (2553) Administering Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
