Course Length: 3 days.
Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to write basic Transact-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Students will learn to describe the uses of, and ways to execute the Transact-SQL language. They will become fluent in using query tools, and writing SELECT queries to retrieve and modify data using subqueries. After completing this course, students will be able to group and summarise data using Tranact-SQL and join and modify data from multiple tables. In addition, students will be skilled in querying text fields with full-text search and creating programming objects. Furthermore, students will be able to use various techniques when working with complex queries.
Audience The course is intended for SQL Server Database Administrators, Implementers, System Engineers and Developers who are responsible for writing queries.
Outline
Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have knowledge of logical and physical database design, how data is stored in tables (rows and columns) and data integrity concepts. Students also need to have an understanding of the relationships between tables and columns and a basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality. |
