Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to successfully configure Windows Vista applications and tools. These skills are necessary to ensure successful configuration of the IT Pro tools and productivity applications that ship with Windows Vista. In addition, students will learn to configure tools and applications from three main areas; maintenance and optimisation tools, media applications and productivity applications.
After completing this course, students will be able to maintain and optimise Windows Vista systems. Furthermore, they will be capable of configuring Windows Vista Media Applications and Windows Vista Productivity Applications.
Audience This course is intended for IT professionals wishing to become technology specialists. This means they value and may be working toward an extensive, deep technical knowledge and are interested in drilling down the details of Windows Vista technologies. In addition, they should want to learn to apply existing concepts, practices, procedures, policies and guidelines. Furthermore, on the job, they work from functional specifications, defined policies/conventions/standards, and documented operational procedures from superiors.
Prerequisites Students must have a familiarity with PC hardware and devices, basic TCP/IP knowledge and basic Windows and Active Directory knowledge. Students should also have experience with mapping network file shares, running commands from a command window, and experience with reviewing BIOS settings. It is also recommended that students have completed (5056) First Look: Getting Started with Windows Vista for IT Professionals and the Hands-on-lab (5057) First Look: Getting Started with Windows Vista for IT Professionals. |
