The Microsoft® Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)® 2003 Stream

 

Course Length: 2 years.

 

Aims

The aim of this course is to provide professionals in the IT industry with an advanced course of study in Networking and System Administration that is current, relevant and integrates industry certification in these fields.

 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, graduates will posses:

§  Advanced skills in the design, implementation and management of networks;

§  Certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) - Microsofts premier certification for those that design and implement an infrastructure solution based on the Windows platform and Microsoft Servers software;

§  Higher order system administration knowledge and skills;

§  Advanced skills in identifying network security risk profiles, defining network security policies and maintaining secure global networks;

§  Problem-solving skills and methodologies when troubleshooting and documenting global internetworking problems;

§  The ability to analyse complex client business and technical requirements and select appropriate internetwork technologies and topologies, and

§  Skills in the development of solutions that meets customer business objectives for functionality, performance, and cost.

Course Structure

The Course consists of 12 subjects with a total value of 96 points. For students that do not qualify for any credit, the recommended duration to complete the Masters is 2 years. There are 3 trimesters per year and we recommend a commitment of 2 subjects per trimester.

 

Graduate Certificate in Networking and Systems Administration

The Master of Networking and Systems Administration is an articulated course that incorporates the Graduate Certificate in Networking and Systems Administration. The certificate can be stand alone or, upon successful completion, students may proceed (with full credit) into the Master of Networking and Systems Administration.  To graduate with the Graduate Certificate, students must satisfactorily complete 4 subjects, which include two industry certification subjects.

§  Subject: ITI558 Active Directory Infrastructure

§  Subject: ITI559 Designing Active directories and Network Infrastructure

§  Subject: ITI598 Implement and Maintain SQL Server

 

Credit

Academic credit is available to students who can provide proof that they have passed relevant industry examinations.

 

NOTE: The actual level of credit awarded will be confirmed upon acceptance into the Masters Degree.
